Crop growth models are useful tools for yield prediction, understanding biological processes and educational purposes. However, for good performance, the models need to include the main factors of crop growth, in addition of correct parameterization of the equations in the simulation model.. Among the most important parameters, there is need to determine fruit and leaf potential growth during maturation period. In this experiment those parameters were determined in a field experiment in which competition for photoassimilates was decreased by thinning fruits and leaves and availability was increased by ringing productive branches. Leaf growth was periodically measured by taking leaf and fruit length and width. Under no environmental and physiological constraints, maximum leaf area was equal to 53cm2 and maximum fruit dimensions were 15,1mm length and 11,8mm width.
