EFEITO DO GLYPHOSATE SOBRE O CRESCIMENTO DE CULTIVARES DE CAFÉ

Abstract

Avaliaram-se, neste trabalho, os efeitos do glyphosate sobre o crescimento de dois cultivares de café de crescimento distinto. Utilizou-se o esquema fatorial (2 x 5) em delineamento de blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições, sendo os tratamentos compostos por dois cultivares de café (Coffea arabica L.): Catucaí Amarelo (2 SL) com internódios curtos e Acaiá (IAC 474/19) com internódios longos e, cinco doses de glyphosate (0, 57,6; 115,2; 230,4 e 460,8 g ha-1). O herbicida foi aplicado quando as plantas de café apresentavam 44 e 52 cm de altura, referentes à Catucaí e Acaiá, respectivamente. No dia da aplicação do glyphosate e também aos 45 e 120 dias após o tratamento, avaliaram-se os incrementos na altura, na área foliar, no número de ramos plagiotrópicos e de folhas e no diâmetro do caule. Nas variáveis estudadas atribuiu-se o valor de 100% às plantas que não receberam tratamento com glyphosate. A partir desse valor foram calculados os efeitos das doses sobre as plantas, percentagens superiores ou inferiores a 100% (valor referência), referente ao crescimento compreendido entre 45 e 120 dias após a aplicação do herbicida. Conclui-se que o cultivar Acaiá é menos tolerante ao glyphosate, quando comparada à Catucaí, pois, esse cultivar apresentou menor crescimento que Catucaí quando submetidas ao tratamento com o herbicida.

It was assessed in this study, the effects of glyphosate on the growth of two coffee species distinct growth. We used a factorial (2 x 5) in a randomized block design with four replications, with treatments consisting of two coffee species (Coffea arabica L.): Catucaí Yellow (2 SL) with short internodes and Acaiá (IAC 474/19) with long internodes, and five doses of glyphosate (0, 57.6, 115.2, 230.4 and 460.8 g ha-1). The herbicide was applied when the coffee plants had 44 and 52 cm high, and referring to Catucaí Acaiá, respectively. On the application of glyphosate and also at 45 and 120 days after treatment, evaluated the increases in height, leaf area, number of primary branches and leaves and stem diameter. In the variables assigned the value of 100% plants that received no treatment with glyphosate. From this value we calculated the dose effects on plants, percentages above or below 100% (reference value) with respect to growth of between 45 and 120 days after herbicide application. We conclude that the Acaiá is less tolerant to glyphosate when compared to Catucaí, therefore, this cultivar showed lower growth than Catucaí when treated with herbicide.
