DESEMPENHO DE CULTIVARES DE CAFÉ EM DOIS SISTEMAS DE CULTIVO, SEQUEIRO E IRRIGADO, NO MUNICÍPIO DE GARÇA - SP

Nos últimos anos, foram lançadas pelo Instituto Agronômico de Campinas/ APTA diversas cultivares de café arábica com elevada produção e resistência à ferrugem. No entanto, existem poucas informações sobre o comportamento agronômico dessas cultivares nas principais regiões produtoras de café do Brasil. O objetivo deste trabalho, que está em andamento, é analisar a produtividade, adaptabilidade e características das sementes de dezesseis cultivares de café, sendo oito de porte baixo e oito de porte alto, em dois experimentos, sendo um submetido à irrigação e o outro no sequeiro, no município de Garça - SP. Dentre as dezesseis cultivares estudadas, oito são resistentes à ferrugem. Em 2008, foram avaliadas a produção de café da roça e de café beneficiado, a renda e as características das sementes como porcentagem de grãos chato, moca e concha, o peso de 100 sementes e a peneira média das dezesseis cultivares, nos dois sistemas de cultivo. No experimento sem irrigação, destacaram-se como mais produtivas as cultivares Obatã IAC 1669-20 e Catuaí Amarelo IAC 62 e no experimento com irrigação as cultivares Obatã IAC 1669- 20 e Obatã Amarelo IAC 4932. Entre as cultivares de porte alto sobressaiu - se Mundo Novo IAC 501-5 no experimento irrigado. Como esperado, todas as cultivares tiveram produções muito superiores no sistema irrigado. As cultivares Obatã IAC 1669-20 e Obatã Amarelo IAC 4932 e Mundo Novo IAC 501-5 se destacaram, com produtividade de 72,7, 46,0 e 41,7 sacas de café beneficiado por hectare respectivamente, no experimento irrigado e de 32,5 e 28,9 sacas de café beneficiado por hectare respectivamente, no experimento de sequeiro. A renda das cultivares Obatã IAC 1669-20 e Obatã Amarelo IAC 4932 foi de 54,4 e 54,7 % e a porcentagem de grãos chato foi 84,5 e 83,0 %, respectivamente.
Recently several cultivars of arabica coffee with high production and resistant to coffee rust have been released to producers by Instituto Agronômico de Campinas/ APTA. However, there is little information concerning the agronomic performance of those cultivars in the main Brazilian coffee producing regions. The aim of this study, being carried out in two experiments, one with and one without irrigation, conduced in Garça - SP, is to analyze the productivity, adaptability and characteristics of the seeds of sixteen coffee varieties, eight of them are tall and eight have short size. Among those cultivars, eight are resistant to coffee rust. In 2008 the production of coffee beans and processed coffee, the out-turn and characteristics of the seeds, such as percentage of flat grains, peaberry and elephant beans, the weight of 100 seeds and the sieve of those sixteen cultivars, in both cropping systems, were evaluated. The most productive cultivars in the experiment without irrigation were the cultivars Obatã IAC 1669-20 and Catuaí Amarelo IAC 62, and in the irrigated experiment the cultivars Obatã IAC 1669-20 and Obatã Amarelo 4932. Among the eight tall cultivars, Mundo Novo IAC501-5 was highlighted. As expected, the production of all cultivars in the irrigated system was much higher than in the non irrigated experiment. The out-turn of the cultivars Obatã Amarelo IAC 4932 and Obatã IAC 1669-20 was 54.4 and 54.7%, respectively; and the percentage of flat beans was 84.5 and 83.0%, respectively.
