The effect of the sludge from the wastwater, worm composed, straw of coffee, and bovine manure for of coffee tree seedlings (Coffea arabica L.) production was evaluated to cultivate Red Catuaí CH 2077-2-5-44, in polyethylene bags. The tested substrates were constituted by a part of the organic material (sludge, straw of coffee and worm composed) for a soil part (ravine earth + it sands, in the proportion of 3:1), and as control a mixture of 70% of sifted earth, 30% of bovine manure, 3 kg of simple superfosfate and 0,5 kg of potassium chloride for each m³. A randomized blocks design with five repetitions was used. The evaluations happened in the 30, 60 and 90 days, being determined the height of the plants, the number of total leaves for plant, the weight of the fresh matter and the dry weight of the aerial part and of the root system, and the test of nutrients in the aerial part. It was used variance analysis and test of Duncan at 5%. Higher plants, number of leaves for plant were obtained with the substract worm composed and straw-of-coffee, followed by those with sludge and bovine manure. The total dry matter was larger with worm composed, followed by straw-of-coffee, sludge and bovine manure. N in the dry matter of the aerial part didn't differ among the substrates, P was higher with worm composed and K with bovine manure. It was concluded that there is a possibility of use of the worm composed, straw-of-coffee and sludge from the wastwater, in substitution to the bovine manure in the coffee tree seedlings production.
