Influência da combinação de espaçamentos entre as linhas e entre as planta sobre a produção individual e produtividade média de nove colheitas de cafeeiros (Coffea arabica L.) cultivar Catuaí

Abstract

O experimento foi instalado na Fazenda Experimental da EPAMIG em Machado, sul de Minas Gerais, em 1992, com o objetivo de avaliar as conseqüências da redução de espaçamentos entre as linhas e entre as plantas na linha de plantio sobre a produção do cafeeiro. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi um fatorial 4 x 3 com parcela subdividida, sendo quatro distâncias entre as linhas (2,0; 2,5; 3,0 e 3,5 m) e três distâncias entre as plantas na linha de plantio (0,5; 0,75; 1,0 m), totalizando 12 tratamentos dispostos em blocos ao acaso em três repetições. Entre os anos de 1994 e 2002 foi avaliada a produção individual e a produtividade de cada um dos tratamentos. Concluiu-se que o arranjo na combinação dos espaçamentos é um fator de maior importância para se atingir altas produtividades do que o numero de plantas por hectare. A combinação de espaçamentos que possuíam 2,0 e 2,5 m entre as linhas de plantio apresentaram as maiores produtividades. .As combinações de espaçamentos que possuíam 0,5 m entre as plantas na linha de plantio apresentaram as menores produções individuais.

The experiment was established in the EPAMIG Experimental Farm, located in the city of Machado, south of the Minas Gerais state, in Brazil, in the year of 1992, with the objective of evaluating the consequences of the reduction on the planting spaces among the rows and among plants, over the yield and phenology of the coffee plants. The experimental design used was a factorial of 4x 3 with split plot parcels of four distances among the planting rows (2,0; 2,5; 3,0 e 3,5 m) and three distances among the plants in the planting row (0,5; 0,75 e 1,0 m) making a total 12 treatments disposed in randomized blocks with three replicates. Between the years 1994 and 2002, the individual plant yield of each treatment were evaluated. It is concluded that the arrangement of the combination of the different spacing is more important to get hight yield than toward the number of plants per hectare. The combination of spacing with 2,0 e 2,5 m among rows shows the bigger yields. The combination of spacing with 0,5 among plants shows the smaller individual plant yield.
