Potencial produivo de cultivares de cafeeiro arábica em diferentes combinações de espaçamentos entre linhas e entre plantas.

Abstract

O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar o potencial de produção de cultivares de cafeeiro de porte baixo plantadas em diferentes combinações de espaçamentos entre linhas e entre plantas. Avaliou-se em São José do Rio Pardo, na região da Mogiana do Estado de São Paulo, no período de 2004 a 2006, a primeira produção das cultivares Obatã IAC-1669-20, Tupi IAC-1669-33 e Catuaí Vermelho IAC-144 de Coffea arabica L. plantadas nos espaçamentos de 1,8, 2,0, 2,5 e 3,0 metros entre linhas e 0,5, 0,7, 0,8 e 1,0 metro entre plantas na linha, com uma planta por cova. Utilizou-se o delineamento estatístico de blocos ao acaso com três repetições, em esquema de parcelas subsubdivididas, onde as parcelas foram os espaçamentos entre linhas, as subparcelas os espaçamentos entre plantas na linha e as subsubparcelas, as cultivares. Os resultados obtidos indicam que: a) o aumento da população de plantas influencia positivamente a produção de café beneficiado por área na primeira colheita; b) a redução dos espaçamentos entre linhas e entre plantas na linha proporciona aumento de produtividade para as cultivares Obatã, Tupi e Catuaí Vermelho; c) A produção de café beneficiado no menor espaçamento ente linhas (1,8m) foi duas vezes superior à do maior espaçamento ente linhas (3,0m); d) a cultivar Obatã apresenta maior potencial de produção de café beneficiado que as cultivares Tupi e Catuaí Vermelho, na primeira colheita; e) as cultivares Tupi e Catuaí Vermelho apresentam níveis semelhantes de produtividade na primeira colheita.

The objective of this work was to evaluate the potential of coffee bean production of short-height Coffea arabica cultivars in different combinations of between rows and between plants spacing. This experiment was carried out in São José do Rio Pardo, northeast region of São Paulo State, during 2004 to 2006. It was evaluated the first production of the cultivars Obatã IAC-1669-20, Tupi IAC-1669-33 and Catuaí Vermelho IAC-144 planted in the spacing of 1,8, 2,0, 2,5 and 3,0 meters between rows and in the spacing of 0,5, 0,7, 0,8 and 1,0 meter between plants in the line. The experimental design was the randomized completely blocks with three replications, using the splitsplit-plot system. The plots were the between-row spacing, the spli-plots were the between-plant in the line spacing and the splisplit-plots were the cultivars. The results showed that: a) the increase of the plant population had influenced positively the coffee bean production by area in the first harvest; b) the reduction of the between-row and between-plant spacing provided increase of the coffee bean productivity for the cultivars Obatã, Tupi e Catuaí Vermelho; c) the yield of coffee bean in the smaller between-row spacing (1,8m) was twice superior than the yield in the larger between-row spacing (3,0); d) the cultivar Obatã presented greater coffee bean yield potential in relation to the cultivars Tupi and Catuaí Vermelho; e) the cultivars Tupi and Catuaí Vermelho had presented similar levels of coffee bean yield in the first harvest
