Coffee (Coffea arabica L.) is one of the most important crop in Brazil and mainly Minas Gerais, where the State has more than 50 % of the national production for many years (Conab, 2008). However, there is a number of coffee diseases, that causes losses in productivity and quality, with a huge depreciation on its marketing value, which determines the permanence or not of the coffee producer in the activity, where the rust (Hemileia vastatrix) is one of the main diseases. The chemical control has been the most efficient and used. However, there is a necessity to develop products to help promote a satisfactory control of these diseases, where the resistance inducers win their space. So, this work had the objective to evaluate the effect of the resistance activator Bion for the control of coffee rust, associated or no with the standard treatment Priori Xtra. The experiment was conduced at Cascavel Farm, Carmo da Cachoeira municipality, Minas Gerais State. The experimental design was randomly blocks, with four replicates and six treatments: : Priori Xtra (500 ml/ha); Priori Xtra + 1 Bion (500 ml + 25 g/ha); Priori Xtra + 2 Bion (500 ml + 25 g/ha); Priori Xtra + 3 Bion (500 ml + 25 g/ha); 4 applications of Bion (25 g/ha) and one control treatement (water). The incidence and severity of the rust was evaluated; the new leaf launching, the foliage and the production per treatment were also assessed. It verified the best control of the rust by the treatment Priori Xtra, however Bion, when applied alone showed some control of the disease, being one promissory alternative for the management of rust, since adjusted its dose and ideal time of application, where for this, it is necessary to make new studies.
