The present work had as objective to evaluate the efficiency of filters constituted by sawdust wood and sugar-cane trash, in the particle size of 2,00 to 2,83 mm, for primary treatment of coffee fruits wastewaters. After characterize the afluent, its passage was made by the filters, being collected the efluents, whose volume was transformed into percoled sheet, for physical analysis, chemistry and biochemistry. Curves were generated, relating the relative concentrations of BOD, COD, PS, TS, N-total, P-total, K, Na, of the efluent versus the percolated sheet. The sugar-cane trash and the sawdust wood provided significant removal of the parameters TS, PS, N-total and P-total of ARC. The sawdust wood was more efficient for BOD and COD removal than to the sugar-cane trash. Na and K was not removal in the filters constituted by the two filtering materials and the efluent presented greater concentrations than the afluent, indicating solute leaching of the filtering material.
