Atividade inseticida do extrato etanólico de Momordica charantia L. sobre a broca-do -café Hypothenemus hampei (FERRARI) (Coleoptera: Scolytidae)

A broca-do-café é uma das principais pragas causadora de prejuízos na cafeicultura mundial. Várias alternativas estão sendo buscadas para o controle deste inseto-praga, como o uso de produtos naturais que vem apresentando bons resultados. Neste trabalho avaliamos a atividade inseticida do extrato etanólico de M. charantia sobre a broca-do-café nas concentrações 5, 25, 100 mg/ml. Para esta avaliação foram usados papéis-filtro impregnados com um ml da solução do extrato (extrato+ADE+Tween) que foram colocados em placas de Petri e sobre este foram colocados 10 insetos adultos por placa. No tratamento controle utilizou-se água e Tween. Para cada tratamento foram realizadas cinco repetições. A mortalidade dos insetos foi avaliada de hora em hora nas primeiras oito horas e 24 horas após o inicio do experimento. Esta avaliação revelou resultados promissores, pois todas as concentrações testadas apresentaram atividade inseticida sobre H. hampei.
Coffee bery borer is one of the main plagues causing of damages in the world-wide cafeicultura. Some alternatives are being searched for the control of this insect-plague, as the use of natural products that comes presenting good results. In this work we evaluate the insecticidal activity of the etanolic extract of M. charantia on the coffee bery borer in concentrations 5, 25, 100 mg/ml.
