Resumo
A eficiência e o desempenho das cooperativas estão condicionados à implementação de boas práticas de gestão e estratégias adequadas, aqui denominadas de Fatores Críticos de Sucesso (FCS). Destarte, a presente dissertação detém o propósito de avaliar os FCS em cooperativas de cafeicultores do estado de Minas Gerais, de modo que seja possível propor um conjunto de medidas capazes de aprimorar seus resultados e reforçar o seu papel econômico e social. Com este desígnio, foram desenvolvidos três artigos que contribuíram com a identificação dos FCS. O primeiro apresenta a contextualização do agronegócio do café em Minas Gerais e uma consulta a especialistas da área de administração de cooperativas e cafeicultura por meio da Técnica Delphi, que resultou na identificação de um conjunto de estratégias relevantes para os cafeicultores e suas cooperativas. O segundo artigo consiste na avaliação da eficiência das cooperativas de cafeicultores e na identificação dos elementos que a condicionam, em que foram utilizados, respectivamente, o método Data Envelopment Analisys (DEA) e o modelo Tobit. O terceiro artigo se refere a um estudo de caso realizado em um dos benchmarks identificados na análise de eficiência e teve o objetivo de identificar as principais estratégias e práticas de gestão adotadas. Ainda, o terceiro artigo apresenta a conclusão sobre os principais FCS para as cooperativas de cafeicultores de Minas Gerais. Verifica- se a existência de alinhamento entre os resultados dos artigos, o que contribuiu com a elaboração da proposta de intervenção pautada nos FCS identificados. A partir dos resultados obtidos, foi possível identificar FCS para as cooperativas de cafeicultores mineiras, que podem ser sintetizados em três categorias: Governança Corporativa, Relacionamento com o Cooperado e Estratégias de Diferenciação. Destaca-se que nessas categorias são evidenciadas estratégias que visam agregar valor na relação entre cooperado e cooperativa, por meio do oferecimento de um mix de produtos e serviços adequados à sua demanda, bem como a definição de estratégias de diferenciação que visam posicionar a cooperativa de maneira competitiva no agronegócio do café. The efficiency and the performance of the cooperatives depends on the implementation of good management practices and strategies like the Critical Success Factors (CSF). Thus, the aim of this study was dissect the CSF in coffee cooperatives in Minas Gerais, so that it is possible to propose a set of measures capable of improving their results and reinforcing their economic and social role. Throughout this work, three articles contributed to identify the CSF. The first presents the contextualization of the coffee agribusiness in Minas Gerais and an appointment with specialists of cooperatives administration and coffee farming through the Delphi Technique, whose resulted in the identification of a set of relevant statistics for coffee growers and their cooperatives. The second article brings up the efficiency of coffee growers' cooperatives and identifying the elements that condition them, in which the Data Envelopment Analyzes (DEA) method and the Tobit model were used, respectively. The third article refers to a case study carried out on one of the benchmarks assayed in the efficiency analysis, whose had the aim to identify the main management strategies and practices adopted. Still, the third article presents a conclusion on the main CSF for coffee cooperatives in Minas Gerais. Therefore, observe the availability of alignment among the results of the articles, whose contributed to the elaboration of the intervention proposal based on the CSF. Through that, it was possible to identify the CSF for coffee cooperatives in Minas Gerais, which can be summarized in three categories: Corporate Governance, Relationship with the Cooperative and Difference Strategies. It is worth to pointing out that in these categories are highlighted the variables that aim to increase value in the relationship between cooperative and cooperative, by offering a mix of products and services compatible with their demand, as well as changing differentiation strategies that aim to position a cooperative in a competitive way in the coffee agribusiness.
