The cultivation of the coffee is an important economic and social paper in Brazil. Although the cultivation in the country has itself developed basically in monoculture, also it is very important the knowledge of the leaf-miner occurrence in the system associated of coffee plants, to obtained a success in the handling. Being like this, for the correct adoption of the forestation, it becomes necessary to know the dynamic of the occurrence of the leaf- miner infestations in those systems of cultivation of shaded coffee plants. The objective of this work is to evaluate the infestation of leaf-miner in conilon coffee plants under different levels of shading in the period between September 2008 to February 2009 and noted the influence of shading on the infestation that pest occurs on the Coffea canephora. The design was made with randomized blocks with four replicates, each containing 8 plants. The monitoring of leaf- miner plants was conducted through biweekly assessments in installments, in each branch was made a counting about the number of mined leaves (active and inactive mine), using a non-destructive method, where the leaves are evaluatedand remaining in the plant. Mans who works with coffee plants all day during the sunny time had greater infestations throughout the completion of the experiment, this way, among of all factors are directly connected to the control of leaf- miner on the coffee, the shade is one of the pillars in the control of Leucoptera coffeela.
