Brasília, D.F. : Embrapa Café, 2007.O pequeno produtor, tem muita dificuldade de viabilizar a sua atividade, principalmente em função do pequeno espaço de cultivo e de sua baixa capacidade de investimento, portanto a Emater desenvolveu um trabalho visando mostrar a importância da dupla aptidão utilizando o café e sericicultura como alternativa de diversificação na utilização e otimização da estrutura de secagem de terreiro híbrido no processo produtivo de lavouras de café e de amoreira, bem como organizar um sistema de informações que permita aos técnicos, envolvidos nessas explorações e no sistema de metodologia treino & visita café, orientar os cafeicultores familiares nos ajustes necessários na condução de suas propriedades no processo de diversificação, utilizando café e exploração da criação do bicho da seda como alternativa de diversificação. Foi desenvolvido no período compreendido entre maio de 2005 e Fevereiro de 2007 por meio de acompanhamentos sistemáticos e do registro das operações realizadas em secagem do café e criação do bicho da seda na mesma estrutura de secagem do café no período subseqüente a colheita do café. A produtividade média anual nas áreas avaliadas de café e sericicultura nesse período ficou de 41scas beneficiadas/há de café e 127,76 kg de casulos por lote (criadas), num total de 12 lotes (criadas) no período. O custo total médio por criada na sericicultura foi de R$ 489,46, num total de 12 criadas e R$115,00 reais/saca de café beneficiado. A receita bruta do café foi de R$ 211,00 / saca beneficiada e na sericicultura foi de R$ 649,21 por criada. A secagem do café foi favorável tanto no aspecto de custo benefício quanto na qualidade, onde se obteve padrão de bebida Dura em70% da produção e Apenas Mole em 30% da produçãoThe small producer, has a lot of difficulty of making possible his/her activity, mainly in function of the small cultivation space and of his/her low investment capacity, therefore Emater developed a work seeking to show the importance of the couple aptitude using the coffee and sericicultura as diversification alternative in the use and optimization of the structure of drying of hybrid yard in the productive process of farmings of coffee and of amoreira, as well as to organize a system of information to allow to the technicians, involved in those explorations and in the system of methodology training & it visits coffee, to guide the family coffee grower in the necessary adjustments in the transport of their properties in the diversification process, using coffee and exploration of the creation of the bug of the silk as diversification alternative.
