Brasília, D.F. : Embrapa Café, 2005.Este trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar o nível de ruído emitido por uma derriçadora portátil durante a colheita de frutos de cafeeiros de diferentes idades (3, 4, 6 e 10 anos). A derriçadora avaliada era acionada por um motor elétrico alimentado por baterias. Foram medidas as características dos cafeeiros, o volume de frutos derriçados e não derriçados, a tensão e a corrente elétrica do circuito do motor da máquina e o nível de ruído emitido pela máquina. A potência requerida na derriça e a carga pendente de frutos dos cafeeiros foram determinadas. A potência requerida na derriça foi maior quanto maior foi a idade dos cafeeiros. O nível de ruído aumentou com o aumento da potência e da carga pendente do cafeeiro. O nível de ruído próximo ao ouvido do operador da máquina apresentou valores acima dos preestabelecidos pelas normas brasileiras, havendo necessidade do uso de protetores auriculares.The noise level emitted by a portable harvester was evaluated in mountain coffee area during the detachment of fruits, for plants of different ages (3, 4, 6 and 10 years). The harvester evaluated was driven by an electric motor linked to a battery system. The coffee plant characteristics, the volume of detached fruits, the volume of fruits that remained in plant, the tension and the current of the electric motor and the noise level were measured. The power requirement in the detachment and the coffee fruit yield per plant were determined. The power requirement for coffee harvesting increased with the increment of the age of the coffee plants. The noise level increased with the increase of the power requirement and of the coffee fruit produced per plant.
