Tese (Doutorado em Fisiologia Vegetal) - Universidade Federal de Lavras, Lavras. 2007.http://www.sbicafe.ufv.br:80/handle/123456789/6642Tese de Doutorado defendida na Universidade Federal de LavrasO estudo do desenvolvimento fenológico e produtividade de cafeeiro arábica – variedade TOPAZIO MG 1190, de dois a quatro anos de idade, implantado em diferentes orientações cardeais (N-S, NE-SO, L-O, e SE-NO) na região de Patrocínio, Minas Gerais, teve suas avaliações iniciadas em outubro de 2002 quando as plantas apresentavam-se com dois anos de idade e, a partir daí, mensalmente, nos dois lados das plantas no sentido transversal à linha de plantio, voltados para as ruas adjacentes. A unidade experimental foi constituída de cinco fileiras com 15 plantas, sendo considerada como parcela útil quatro plantas consecutivas das três fileiras centrais. A análise do crescimento durante os anos de setembro de 2002 a outubro de 2004 revelou crescimento segundo padrão sazonal, com taxas acentuadas na primavera/verão, intercaladas por um período de crescimento lento no outono/inverno; além de mostrar que para as quatro direções das linhas de plantio, não houve diferenças significativas de crescimento vegetativo. O somatório das três primeiras produções da lavoura verificou-se não haver diferenças entre posicionamentos das fileiras e nem em relação aos lados da planta voltados para as ruas, levando-se em consideração o caminhamento solar. Análises fisiológicas de trocas gasosas e de potencial hídrico também revelaram não haver diferenças entre os tratamentos, uma vez que a lavoura se encontrava sob condições de radiação em níveis saturantes; a temperatura na faixa adequada, sem estresse hídrico durante todas as épocas do ano. Os resultados, no entanto, não descartam a possibilidade de haver favorecimento fisiológico para um ou mais direcionamentos das fileiras em relação aos pontos cardeais.The coffee plant study of phenological development and productivity using TOPAZIO MG 1190 variety, was realized in different cardinal directions (N-S, NE- SW, E-W, and SE-NW) in the region of Patrocínio, Minas Gerais. The evaluations were initiated in October/2002, when the plants were two years old and, since this time, every month, on the both side of plants transversal of the sowing line, facing adjacent towpath. The experimental unit was made up of five rows containing15 plants, four consecutive plants of the three central rows were considered as the useful plot. The plant growth analysis was made in the four sowing line directions, and did not show significant differences, altough the seasonal growth pattern had accentuated growth rates in the spring/summer, combined with a period of slow growth in the fall/winter. The physiological analyses of gaseous exchanges and water potential also revealed no differences among the treatments, once the crop was under radiation conditions at saturated levels; and the temperature in the appropriate range, without water stress during the whole year. In relation to the production, the sum of the first three crops did not show differences among the row positins and neither in relation to the sides of the plant facing the towpath, taking into account the solar path. Considering all those aspects, it is possible to conclude that were neither reductions nor physiological aspects favoring for any directioning of the rows.
