Item Image analysis of coffee seeds submitted to the LERCAFE test(Editora da Universidade Estadual de Maringá - EDUEM, 2016-07) Ribeiro, Bárbara Gomes; Abraão, Christovão Pereira; Nery, Marcela Carlota; Nacimento, Rodrigo Marques; Rezende, Juliana Costa; Fialho, Cíntia Maria TeixeiraThe aim of this experiment was to quantify the stained areas of coffee seeds submitted to the LERCAFE test using image analysis. The seeds used were of the Catuaí Vermelho IAC 99 and Paradise cultivars. The physiological quality of the lots was assessed using germination tests, moisture content and a germination speed index. The LERCAFE test was conducted using seeds without parchment immersed in a solution of 3% sodium hypochlorite for 3 hours. Color photographs (RGB) with a resolution of 5 MPx were taken of each seed. The seeds were visually evaluated, and the functions generated from the analyses of the stained and non-stained regions were quantified by the Matlab R2009b program. Classification models were developed based on the Fisher Linear Discriminant Function and the evaluation of the adequacy of the models confusion matrix between the visual references and the classification generated by the linear functions. The image analysis for the creation of Fisher’s linear discriminant function in the development of classifiers for the coffee seeds submitted to the LERCAFE test is potentially efficient; however, it remains necessary to test other discriminant functions and quantification methodologies.Item Crescimento de cafeeiros enxertados cultivados em solução nutritiva(Editora UFLA, 2014-07) Ferreira, André Dominghetti; Rezende, Ramiro Machado; Rezende, Juliana Costa; Carvalho, Gladyston Rodrigues; Carvalho, Alex Mendonça de; Pereira, Thamiris BandoniA utilização da enxertia no cafeeiro, além de conferir maior tolerância aos nematoides, tem mostrado influência no crescimento vegetativo. Objetivou-se, no presente trabalho, avaliar o crescimento vegetativo de diferentes cultivares de Coffea arabica, enxertadas em Apoatã IAC 2258 (Coffea canephora). O experimento foi instalado em casa de vegetação, utilizando- se o método de cultivo em solução nutritiva. Foi utilizado um fatorial 7 x 3, sendo sete cultivares de C. arabica L. (Palma II, Catucaí 2SL, Oeiras MG 6851, Obatã IAC 1669-20, Acauã, Topázio MG 1190 e Paraíso MG H 419-1), três tipos de mudas (pé- franco, autoenxertada e enxertada sobre a cultivar Apoatã IAC 2258) e mais dois tratamentos adicionais (Apoatã autoenxertado e Apoatã pé-franco). A técnica da enxertia não afetou o crescimento das mudas de cafeeiros. As cultivares Acauã, Paraíso MG H 419-1 e Catucaí 2SL apresentam melhor desempenho quando enxertadas. O desenvolvimento do sistema radicular das mudas autoenxertadas e de pé-franco superou o das mudas enxertadas. As cultivares Palma II, Obatã IAC 1669-20e Oeiras MG 6851 possuem potencial para promover o desenvolvimento do sistema radicular do porta-enxerto semelhante ao da muda de Apoatã autoenxertada.
